What might seem like an odd curve in the path to some was actually a predestined destination. In 2024 Jay was playing around with some old WIP tracks trying to find where they might fit. They stumbled into Amapiano (a style of house born out of South Africa and popularized all over Africa and Europe). As it turns out several tracks, some from as early as 2012, had the bones of proto-Amapiano in them already. Two more or less had a log drum, so this was... weird. Taking it as a sign to lean in, Jay birthed 'Vadoro' - which sounds like a word, and might even be - ọrọ̀ is a word in Yoruba - 'speech', 'va' and 'd'or' is 'go' and 'gold/en' in french, respectively. But the simplest explanation is the swedish phrase 'vadå då?' which sounds a bit like vadoro spoken fast, and means 'why are you asking?'. Kind of. Swedish is weird. The first album Sonic Flow Part I arrived in June 2025, 14 tracks of genuine Afro-centric joy paired with Swedish melancholy. Part II, now released as of May 2026 lets the Flow continue. Up next is an EP in Swedish called 'Vi Talar Svenska!' with plenty of things worth waiting for. Stay tuned.
