Old becomes new. Ingen Annan is a brand new project from a producer with over thirty years in the game. The resulting debut album Ingen Annan Mäktar (Swedish for "No one else can") is competent without the need for flash. The 12 track album is properly put together - clean, heavy, and full of those classic break stops that hit like a punchline - but the tone is more often than not pure shit-stirring. It throws 90s jungle next to modern neuro, electroswing, ragga, big beat, breakcore and whatever else needed cooking that day. Tempos swing from half-time swagger at 65 bpm to full-pelt 194 bpm just because they can. Genres switch up for the bit, but it all works. Music and comedy share a common thread - both work best when serious craft is dressed up as a complete lack of it. But seriously - there's a K-Pop track with hardcore techno kicks?? Kill it with fire! Or buy it on Bandcamp.
